Can you believe it? In less than 3 weeks it will be Katy Guitar Fest time!!! With how fast it is approaching, things are developing quickly on our end. Speaking of which...
A very popular Mexican restaurant in West Houston (which is currently closed, but rumors have it re-opening....in Katy) was "Las Alamedas." It was hard to miss their beautiful building on I-10. Gracing their marquee, and subsequently performing at their restaurant, on many occasions was local guitarist Ron Hudson. Well, Ron will be at the fest, along with his good friend, Claudio Zangirolami. You can see them at the Texas Guitar Gallery booth!
We are also lucky to have Jim Hewett, of Hewett Guitars, attending the fest! Jim is a master luthier with over 15 years of custom guitar building experience. Drop by his booth to get a look at some incredible instruments! Could he bring a harp guitar or something just as unique??
Another master luthier attending our fest and providing examples of his incredible work is Walter M. Surrency, of Surrency Guitars. You will not want to miss what he has to offer!
And we certainly cannot forget the custom guitar works made by Jeremy Burke of Vireo Guitars. Those of you looking for a great rock axe need to see these guitars! Be sure to visit their booth and experience them for yourself!
A very recent addition to our fest is Joe Slack. Joe teaches guitar building at the Center for Essential Education out of Elm Mott, TX. Joe will provide a clinic on guitar building basics, and will also have a booth at the fest.
Another fantastic clinician that will grace our clinic area is Jay Bouche. Jay is a fantastic guitarist out of New Orleans, versatile in many genres of music, and is sure to impress you with his knowledge.
We will also have a lot of arts and crafts vendors...visit our vendor page to see who is coming!
For those of you who may be "sitting on the fence," we still have a few vendor booth spots available. So please don't procrastinate and lose your chance to exhibit at the fest! Vendor applications are available by visiting our home page.
Finally, our early bird tickets sales are going to be coming to a close. Thanksgiving Day will be your last chance to purchase your ticket at a 25% discount! Again, you can purchase your early bird ticket from our home page.
There will be more updates as matters develop! Please help us by telling all of your friends about this event! Here is a great article about the fest that you can share with all you know: http://www.examiner.com/x-26700-Houston-Art-Examiner
Again, the more that show up...the better for everybody!
We look forward to seeing you at the fest!
