The Katy Area Chamber of Commerce's Monthly Membership Luncheon will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at 11:30 AM, Merrell Center, 6301 S Stadium Lane. The luncheon will honor the 56 2010 KISD Teachers of the Year and the keynote address will be given by Michael Holthouse, founder and President of Paranet, Inc.
The luncheon is open to everyone to attend. Reservations must be made and paid for in advance. The cost for the lunch is $30.00 for members and $40.00 for non-members. Corporate tables for 10 are available for $350.00. Corporate tables for 8 are $250.00. Registrations are due by no later than noon Monday, May 10. You may register online at www.katychamber.com.

Michael Holthouse is best known in the business world as founder and President of Paranet, Inc., a computer network services company. As an INC. Magazine Entrepreneur of the Year and a two-time "Inc. 500 Fastest Growing Company" winner, Michael grew Paranet in 6 years to 27 offices, 1600 employees and revenues in excess of $100 million and ultimately sold the company to Sprint in 1997.
Since then he has focused on philanthropy, investments and a variety of business interests. Community involvement is an enormous part of Michael's life and he has served on a variety of children's and civic boards.
His family foundation, The Holthouse Foundation For Kids, focuses proactively on at-risk youth. His philanthropic venture is called Prepared 4 Life which prepares middle school youth for life through fun, proactive and experiential after-school programs infused with life skills, character education and entrepreneurship. His newest venture is Lemonade Day, which is a community wide education event teaching youth how to start, own and operate their very own "Lemonade Business".
The most treasured part of Michael's life is spending time with his wife Lisa and their four children.
The Katy Area Chamber of Commerce has been serving the Katy area business community as the voice and assisting with business development and economic growth since 1962. This voluntary organization of business and professional people offers services to strengthen existing businesses, encourages small business creation and develops a talented workforce.
The service area of the Katy Area Chamber of Commerce is primarily the same as the Katy Independent School District boundaries.
