Pregnancy Help Center and LIFE International

KATY, TX (April 21, 2010) Kosmos® Coffee has selected Human Life as its cause for May and will donate 100 percent of profit for the month to two organizations which help promote life, both locally and globally. In honor of all mothers, Kosmos® Coffee has selected Pregnancy Help Center and LIFE International as its featured beneficiaries for May because of their services that help promote life and prevent abortion both in Houston and internationally.

“To be, you have to be alive. From conception to a natural death, life is a cause. To borrow a phrase, life is “worth living for”. Around the world, the leading cause of death is not poor medical care, lack of water nor lack of education, but the intentional ending of God-given life. On the front end it’s through abortion. On the back end it’s through euthanasia. At Kosmos™ we support those who are giving their lives to see that a culture of life thrives,” said General Manager Julie Thigpen. “Both Pregnancy Help Center and LIFE International reach out to those who are particularly vulnerable to educate them on what options are available to them and assist them with improving their situation to help them choose life for their unborn child.”

Global Cause: LIFE International

LIFE International is an evangelical Christian organization, whose vision is to multiply LIFE ministries wherever abortion exists around the world. One of the primary ways that they do this is through establishing pregnancy resource centers. This is accomplished through the core components of providing pregnancy testing and counseling for women in crisis pregnancies, teaching the message of abstinence before marriage in the community, and ministering to post-abortive men and women. These overseas centers have become lighthouses of hope, truth, safety and life in their communities. The results already have been profound, and they are seeing the culture of cities being transformed.

Worldwide, 46-50 million children lose their lives to abortion each year. Abortions in the U.S. and Canada (1.4 million) amount to 3% of abortions worldwide. And while the U.S. and Canada have 2,500 pregnancy centers to counteract 3% of abortions, the rest of the world has 600 centers for 97% of abortions. While agencies promoting abortion exist in more than 180 countries, for a woman living outside of North America, there may not be a single pregnancy center in her entire country, let alone her city.
