The much anticipated opening of Katy's newest HEB store is creating quite the buzz this week, as members of the media were welcomed to tour the 85,000 square foot facility. Treated to gourmet coffee and samples of some of HEB's delectable treats, we were introduced to the management team that would provide the backbone to the store: Tim Morris (Unit Director), Rexhe Kasumaj (Store Director), and Joey Garcia (Assistant Store Director).
Tuesday, August 3rd, at 6:15 p.m., HEB will have their official ribbon cutting, followed by a party with VIPs in Katy's community.
HEB will finally open to the public on Wednesday, August 4th at 6:00 a.m., offering all that you would expect of an HEB store and much, much more.
What makes the Pin Oak store unique?
HEB prides itself on tailoring their stores to the surrounding neighborhoods. Pin Oak will have HEB's first ever "Texas Backyard" featuring an assortment of seasonal plants, gardening tools, lawn care products, accessories, furniture and decor.
The usual fresh foods and a few new surprises will await HEB's customers, with made-to-order guacamole, 960 varieties of produce, sushi, baked-daily breads, and amazing 3-D cakes like never seen before. Specialty meats, such as bison, will be available, plus the usual always fresh/never frozen seafood at the same low price, despite what you've heard about the Gulf oil spill. The staff is knowledgeable about the Gulf crisis, able to answer all your questions and concerns. And don't forget to stop by the new fudge bar, which is an HEB first!

Specialty cheeses, including HEB's made-daily mozzarella, will delight the most distinguished palate, along with their Mediterranean olive bar, and "Katy Market" made-to-order sandwiches on freshly made breads of your choice. Also, this store has one of the largest selections of gluten-free products found anywhere.
Need something to wash down all this wonderful food? Try one of over 1000 varieties of wines, many that are exclusive to HEB.
The new HEB store offers a huge selection of bulk coffees, a full aisle of Katy Tiger apparel, price scanners throughout the store, and a rice cake machine at the front door that makes fresh rice cakes that will keep you coming back for more.
With so many unique features and products at the new HEB, this sneak peek was the perfect way to create a shopping list of all the items to purchase at Wednesday's grand opening.
