The Katy Rice Harvest Rice Cooking Contest is one of the kick-off events for the Annual Katy Rice Harvest Festival. The Katy Rice Harvest Festival Rice Cooking Contest was held Saturday, September 25, at the Kenzo Sushi Bistro in LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch. The Rice Harvest Festival Rice Cooking Contest is sponsored by Mahatma Rice, Minute Rice, Riceland Rice, and Success Rice. Alan Gunn served as the Chairman of the Rice Cooking Contest.
The Rice Cooking Contest entries were judged on taste, creative use of rice, appearance and appeal. Several unique dishes were submitted this year. The Rice Cooking winners included:
